Torus

Torus Torus is a beautiful eight year old Greyhound boy who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own.  Due to a significant change in family circumstances this lovely lad finds himself homeless and in need of a new houndie loving home. He was brilliant in a home environment and had lived with children but a terrible break in at the home when he was home alone has left him now a little less confident. He’s always happy to see people, but gentle and waggy tailed, not jumping up. He’s a big strong lad when he gets running around so we think older children would be fine rather than small children running around. Unfortunately he can be reactive towards other dogs. He is a hunter/chaser in his heart so it has to be a dog, cat and furries free home.  We also tested with pigs and sheep and he was keen to find a way over the fence, so its absolutely zero tolerance around animals. Now to the good bits,  he is good with you around him when eating, loves treats, treat searches, and is fine to have the harness/lead put on.  He enjoyed being gently stroked all over,  although when we tried a rougher scratch, he tensed up and looked a bit worried. He will soon get used to this with more handing and learning to trust. Oh boy, does he do calm well.  A typical Greyhound where sleep is the top priority, being in his bed is fab and just dozing and lying with you is great.  In kennels when he is alone he is quiet and in his bed most of the time. He can pull on the lead, a general rule he was really good until he saw something and then lost the ability to pay attention and would pull! He can be timid around traffic, he’s probably not used to it.  He wasn’t overly bothered, but was watchful of large vehicles passing. (To be fair it did seem to be a tractor and trailer outing! ) He is good in the car. All in all, a typical greyhound bless him, who  needs an experienced GH home who will understand he has specific limitations around other animals…of any sort at the moment. Oh, and somewhere with a high fence – did we mention he’s a big boy? Please can you help him find a home again where he feels safe and loved? He’s in Shrewsbury but can rehome UK wide to the right home.  He’s house trained, sweet temperament and just desperate to be loved.
