Rspca Essex South and Southend Dogs Needing Homes

One of my favourites, (know I shouldn’t be biased, but I’ve worked with him a lot!)
Almost 7 yr old Khan is still looking for a special forever home. He’s currently lucky enough to be in foster care, but he’s looking for a home where he can be the only pet, with experienced owners. Khan has not had the opportunity to socialise with other dogs much and will need continued positive training to help him with this, which we can offer support with. Khan is homeless due to his previous owners terminal illness. Khan was allowed a lot of freedom in the past (wandering in and out of the home at will) so will need a secure home, as he can open some doors, and it’s not appropriate to let him wander unsupervised!
Khan absolutely adores being with his people, loves affection, being groomed, and will wake you in the morning with a huge kiss. He walks well when using a gentle leader, and enjoys a ride in the car. Yes, he does have his faults, but don’t we all, and we will be here to offer support and advice.
If you can offer Khan security, stability and positive guidance in return for bundles of kisses and loyalty then call 07749 175023 or email dogs@rspcaessexsouth.co.uk Khan is neutered, vaccinated, micro chipped, worm and flea treated, and will come with 6 weeks free pet insurance.

Meet Sophie a four year old Pharoah Hound that we are helping to rehome for Crofters Kennels – yes probably the biggest ears you have ever seen on a canine companion! And boy is she a companion. Loyal, cuddly and very very funny. Sophie is …currently in a foster home and is now ready to move on to her forever home after finding herself orphaned through the death of her previous owner. Her current foster carer says she is a gentle, friendly and extremely lazy, but frequently up for a game of chase the ball! Despite having legs that don’t quite know where they are going when she runs, she is a delicate, kind soul and would thrive in a quiet home, but she does get on with children. She can’t live with cats or small furries and you will need to have a secure garden in which she can play. Please call Crofters on 01268 785350 for more information. A rehoming fee and home check will apply. Sophie is vaccinated and micro chipped

Ralph Looking for a long term home

Here is a lovely update from Ralph’s foster mum, Ralph is doing so well, please call 07749 175023 if you’d like to offer Ralph a forever home.
RALPH UPDATE Ralph has been in foster with us for one week now and he has  quickly become great friends with my nine year old son, as he is so affectionate and loves to play… He is quiet and not destructive, walks well on a lead and is se…ttled in the car. He is nervous of other dogs at first but is happy to play alongside them when he gets to know them, and loves to play chase with my dogs. When he first arrived he seemed not to know his name, but he is a quick learner, and now comes when called and his ‘sit-stay’ is improving everyday. He loves playing with his ball,  walks in the park, and lots of cuddles… Ralph is a lovely dog, full of fun and would make an amazing best friend

Please Re Home Lovely Lottie

Lovely Lottie the 9 year old Mastiff is looking for an equally lovely retirement home. Lottie has had a tough old time of it prior to coming into our care. She has been used for breeding in the past and hasn’t had the loving care she deserv…es. Lottie has become a firm favourite at kennels, where she had to wait for many months before being given the go ahead to be re-homed.
So, Lottie is affectionate, placid and gentle, she hasn’t had regular socialisation with other dogs, but could possibly live with a male dog subject to successful introductions. Lottie can live with children age 7+ (simply due to her size) she is untested with cats though. Lottie is currently on a special diet, more information can be given about this if you enquire to adopt her. So please call 07749 175023 to offer Lottie her forever home. Lottie is spayed, vaccinated, micro chipped, worm and flea treated.

Please Please Help Sparky

Sparky is still in kennels awaiting a forever home. He is quite a complex fellow who is not keen on touch and fuss, and needs an owner willing to just let him be,he does like to get his own way and he can be grumpy at times, but who wouldn’…t be if their owner had died and your family never came to collect you from kennels? It’s a lot to ask, we know, as he is super cute looking and most people would want to be affectionate towards him, but that’s not what he really needs. Can live with dogs, no children or cats though. Please share him, or call 07749 175023 if you are interested in offering Sparky a foster or forever home.See more
Hello, my name is Sparky, and I am a nine year old male Terrier. I am in kennels waiting for a home because my owner died, and although family members were supposed to come and take me home, they never arrived.
I would like a retirement ho…me where I can just be myself, I enjoy playing ball and fetch, and I can play beg for treats. But I do not always like being touched, especially on my back, so I need a new owner who understands that, because I will tell you off if you forget and try to pet me there! I don’t have any pain now, but when I came in to kennels my collar was very tight and my skin was sore and bald, so maybe it’s because I had pain in the past that I don’t like being touched there now. I know its hard because I am so cute looking, but I really am happy not to be cuddled, we can play ball instead, and I can lie at your feet and keep you company. I am a good boy in the house, the kennel staff sometimes take me home for a little break and I behave well.
Although it’s fine here in kennels, I really am a bit too old to stay here much longer, and would like a comfy bed of my own in a forever home. If you’d like to come and meet me call 07749 175023.

RSPCA Gino

Our 3 year old Pomeranian x Chihauhau, Gino is still waiting for a home, can’t fathom why this happy chappy hasn’t been snapped up!
Gino is an active boy, loves to be with you and enjoys the outdoors. Gino can be resistant sometimes and doe…s prefer to do things his way, so further positive training to help guide him would be beneficial. He’d love an active new home. Untested with cats. Gino cannot live with someone who works full time and is out all day. Call 07749 175023, please share Gino!

This lovely pair of Cocker Spaniels are looking for a home together.
12 year old Levi (right) and 7 year old Rio (left) are in good health and are very good natured.
They have grown up with children of all ages are fully house trained and are not destructive when left. Please note this is a private re-homing but a home check will still be necessary. Please call 07749 175023

Please consider giving Blitz a new home

”Here is Blitz, a male German Shepherd cross, 18 months old, who has been patiently waiting for his forever home for some time. When Blitz arrived in January, he’d had no training and needed positive direction, he’d also not had much opportunity to socialise with other dogs and was over zealous in greeting.
Lucky for Blitz along came a fantastic foster family who have helped Blitz grow into a wonderful companion. Blitz knows general obedience now, walks well on lead, he has been socialising more and more with other dogs and walks on lead with other dogs a swell, (off lead he can still be quite distracted, so this needs more work), but he now happily shares his home with an older calm bitch. Blitz is not destructive in the home, and is fully house trained, and is described by his foster family as a pleasure to care for. We would suggest any children should be 13+ as Blitz very occasionally still mouths, but a firm ‘no’ and he remembers that is not appropriate. Blitz also needs a cat free home. Blitz is very affectionate, and loves company (so cannot live with a full time worker), he adores playing ball and is intelligent and eager to please, he may like to do agility or fly ball too.’
